19418 Head Injury: Executive Function Deficits

Course overview
Discussion of brain injuries as a chronic disorder including a focus on causes of death, risk of epilepsy, and brain tumors. Examines follow-up studies and evidence of association including positive association and causal relationship. Surveys executive functions including deficits, how they work in the brain, remedial and compensatory treatment strategies and how to decide which to use. Examines habits, how we form them, and how habits can be used in brain injury treatment in the form of scripting.
