Course overview

Losing someone we care about to an act of violence is heartbreaking, and it’s easy to think it could never happen to us. Unfortunately, recent current events continue to remind us that we are not immune to these types of tragedies. This course is meant for all of us – employees and managers alike – because it’s always better to be prepared to respond to an active shooter situation. In this training course, you will learn about what to do in an active shooter situation, and how to prepare for an emergency, just in case. Remember, being aware, and as prepared as possible are the keys to helping protect ourselves, our employees, our customers, and our friends and loved ones. By the end of this course, you will be able to: -Describe common characteristics of active shooter incidents -Outline your options in an active shooter incident -Create an emergency action plan -Summarize how to respond when law enforcement arrives on the scene -Explain how to manage the consequences of an active shooter incident
