Self-Care, Its not Selfish

Course overview

To explore positive and negative aspects of being a helper and the importance of self care as it relates to quality practice. Objectives: Participants will review the Ethical Codes for helping professionals regarding impairment and competence. Participants will increase understanding of Compassion Satisfaction, Compassion Fatigue, Burnout, and Secondary Traumatic Stress. Participants will develop a personal definition of self-care. Participants will be provided with Self-Care Assessment Tools and will be encouraged to make a personal commitment to Self-Care.
