Interprofessional Strategic Planning
Tracking # 20-698524
Course overview
Healthcare has become increasingly complex within an environment of rapid change. Healthcare providers are faced with the challenges of adapting quickly and responding to the unprecedented demands for strategic planning. In turbulent environments with many interconnected and moving parts, healthcare professionals need additional skills in their toolbox. The need for interprofessional teamwork was recognized more than 10 years ago with the emergence of the quality and safety breakthroughs. The National Academy of Medicine, formerly the Institute of Medicine, and other experts maintain that IP teams can improve the quality of care, and that as a group, they problem solve more effectively and lead to improved outcomes. Healthcare providers have never been faced with such tremendous challenges in creating new models of care delivery as they are currently — expanding beyond the walls of any one organization.
