Occupational performance for stroke patients is limited by hemiplegia of the shoulder complex and upper limb. Discussion will include anatomy of the shoulder and scapula, biomechanics, evaluation of the hemiplegic shoulder complex and trunk, and current evidence for treatment techniques and interventions such as NMES, taping, pain management, and functional use.
