Educational Objectives: To recognize the biological variations in monoclonal gammopathic disorders with respect to the structure of involved immunoglobulin. To understand the basis for the serum free light chain assay To understand the limitations of serum free light chain assay. To understand the role of oligoclonal response and its effect on interpretation of serum free light chain assay. To recognize the current role of serum free light chain assay as part of the criteria for myeloma defining conditions.
