Course overview
This course provides a review of the anatomy and physiology of platelets, there role in bleeding, and the effect/use of antiplatelets in stopping bleeding. The course examines the role of platelets in clotting. It also reviews the classes of antiplatelet medications, and their position in clot prevention compared to their risk of bleeding. Classification, guidelines, therapeutic approaches, and established responses within the context of clot prevention versus bleeding risks are discussed. Symptoms, effects, and treatment options of different pathophysiological disorders are also reviewed.
