Course overview

The number of geriatric patients seeking dental services is ever-rising because of increased life expectancy and increased chronic medical conditions. One of them is patients on antiplatelet medication. Bleeding risk after minor oral surgery by antiplatelet agents is of concern to dentists in the dental management of these patients. The risks and benefits of the antiplatelet agents must be weighed before initiating dental procedures, which should be established as a treatment guideline. The course aims to optimize the management of dental patients on antiplatelet medication via standardization of the treatment protocol of such a patient.
