Learners will achieve the following objectives: describe the current societal and professional perspectives on medical errors, review the definition of medical error and the potential types of medical errors that can occur, discuss the consequences of medical errors on patients, professionals, and society, and apply error-reduction techniques to current practice. Course is approved for 3.0 continuing education units-CEUs-contact hours for Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states), Florida Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Certified Case Managers (CCM), Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC), and Social Workers (NASW). Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
