Tracking # 20-762603
Course overview
This course provides EMS professionals with information about the etiology, risk factors, signs and symptoms, and prehospital treatment of acute ischemic stroke. Prehospital stroke care remains critical. And this course will also discuss several developing approaches to evaluating and treating stroke in the field, among them prehospital telestroke, mobile stroke units, prehospital trans-cranial ultrasound, blood-borne biomarkers, and neuroprotective strategies. Although prehospital stroke treatment is largely supportive, EMS plays an essential role in providing the information essential for definitive treatment in hospital.
