Course objective include: Recognize the physiological, psychological, and environmental factors that can influence the nutritional status of older adults living in long-term care facilities; identify nutritional complications that are commonly associated with older adults living in long-term care facilities; describe how nutrition therapy can be applied to improve the nutritional status of older adults living in long-term care facilities; list appropriate techniques to improve the nutritional status of older adults living in long-term care facilities; and identify techniques that apply compassion, empathy, and cultural sensitivity to nutritional interventions for older adults living in long-term care facilities. To receive credit, participant must pass the final exam with a score of 80% or more (exam may be retaken as often as needed).
