Course overview
The course is a downloadable PDF file with a 15 question exam This course introduces Communicable Diseases, their causes and effects, the way they spread, and what kind of risks they pose for people in the massage and bodywork field. Its a fact; people in the field of healthcare have many opportunities to be exposed to these disease-causing parasites simply because we do what we do. Why do we need to know about communicable diseases? Although we dont regularly perform the tasks that doctors and nurses do, we are continually dealing with the general public. Just that fact alone means that we are exposed to all of the maladies that our clients bring in the door. We are responsible for keeping ourselves, our families, and our clients safe by ensuring that we dont unknowingly spread infectious diseases that we may have come in contact with. There is also information specific to Influenza, HIV AIDS, and CoVID 19. We will compare and contrast the two and discover ways to maintain our own safety without making our clients feel uncomfortable.
