Course Recognizing Impairment in the Workplace For nurses to identify signs of impairment in a nursing colleague or other healthcare worker, they must first know the types and effects of impairment. Additionally, nurses need to know steps to report impairment, how mandatory reporting law impacts impaired medical professionals, employer initiatives to promote workplace safety, and available treatment programs. This course was designed to provide nursing professionals with knowledge of steps to recognize and report impairment in the workplace as well as to identify available treatment programs for healthcare workers.
