The nurse plays a critical role in promoting effective asthma management. Examine the newest medications and delivery devices being used and patient teaching strategies to assure optimal compliance. Course Objectives: * Describe current medications used in asthma management. * Identify the role of quick-relief and long-term controller medications. * Recognize the stepwise approach to medication therapy based on severity levels. * Describe proper techniques for medication administration. * Provide patient education on the use of asthma medications. * Identify pharmacologic considerations unique to the older adult with asthma.
