RX/NP 1.Identify risk factors for severe COVID-19 and recognize key differences between influenza and COVID-19 symptoms. Compare and contrast the tests used to detect COVID-19 infection. 2.Discuss the primary therapeutic agents for COVID-19; include effectiveness, side effects, and dosing. 3.Counsel patients on the use of supplements, prevention, and supportive care for mild cases of COVID-19. Technicians 1.List the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and discuss risk factors for severe COVID-19. 2.Discuss the major differences between the two types of SARS-CoV-2 tests: diagnostic tests for current infection and antibody tests. 3.Identify medications that may be used to prevent and treat COVID-19. Recognize appropriate dosing for each. Discuss the use of ACE inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers in patients with COVID-19.
