Course overview
This 2-hour webinar will be taught at the Intermediate Level. However, the content will be appropriate for new graduates, or those who are experienced yet have not worked in the acute care setting for quite some time. Even therapists who currently work in acute care would benefit from this course as they may learn a different variation in clinical practice. Additionally, this course will take the attendee on a walk-through down the many long halls in a very large medical facility where they will be exposed to various case studies in orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, and oncology. Imaging studies and lab values will be interspersed throughout the webinar. Lastly, attendees will see how one therapist navigates his way through multiple conversations with physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, rehab co-workers such as OT and SLP as well as patients and their family members.
