Learner Objectives: As a result of having attended the meeting, the participants should have had the opportunity to: 1. The listener will understand what is the purpose of a Qualified Clinical Data Registry under current Medicare law. 2. The listener will understand how to use a certified Electronic Health Record (EHR) to participate in the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Registry (HBOTR). 3. The listener will understand how HBOTR research can be performed by tying appropriately developed quality measures to national registry participation. 4. Discuss how registries can be used in medicine. 5. Describe the essential components of successful registries. 6. Explain the limitations and potential pitfalls of registries. 7. Understand the importance of a registry for the future of hyperbaric medicine. 8. Understand the organization of the Dartmouth registry and the reasons for the design chosen. 9. Review the types of questions that can be answered using a hyperbaric outcomes registry.
