Course overview
In this course, we will present depression, focusing on its varying causes and treatment options. Depression is indiscriminant and effects many people regardless of sex, gender, ethnicity, and class. With this, we will highlight common ways depression presents in men, women, children, teens and older adults. We will also touch on how culture impacts and influences how depression manifests and is treated. There is a section focusing on Veterans issues. We will present suggestions around the current medical system in terms of early assessment and differing treatments, including complementary and alternative treatments for depression.
