Course overview
This continuing education course will develop healthcare providers knowledge of diabetic neuropathy and treatment options. Learners will be exposed to background information on the disease state including definitions, classification, etiology, pathophysiology, and prognosis. They will review common signs and symptoms of the disease and will focus on disease prevention strategies such as glycemic control, lifestyle modifications, and foot care. This is followed by an in-depth review of current treatment options for diabetic neuropathy including treatment of pain and autonomic disorders such as cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and urogenital neuropathies.
