Course overview
Children are not the only ones who suffer from sensory processing disorder. This disorder affects adults and the elderly population as well. The signs, symptoms, and reactions to stimuli, are different in adults than children. This course will define sensory processing disorder, discuss symptoms, differentiate between childhood and adult SPD, and provide treatment interventions adapted to the adult population. Case studies will demonstrate the triggers and behavioral reactions to sensory input in adults and the elderly population.
