Course overview

Understanding the components of the complete blood count (CBC) and liver panel can help the interprofessional team in the identification of many conditions including anemia, iron deficiency anemia, liver disease, vitamin B12 deficiency anemia, or folate deficiency anemia. Knowledge of specific components of the CBC is necessary to identify the type of anemia present. This module will review components of the CBC, the liver panel, and the interpretation of the results. The goal of this course is to provide registered dietitians, nurses, emergency medical services, and laboratory professionals working in acute care with knowledge of the complete blood count and liver panel.
