Hepatitis C: A Review of Current Therapies
Tracking # 20-729460
Course overview
Chronic hepatitis C has been the leading cause of many complications associated with the liver, such as cirrhosis and the need for a liver transplant. Historically, treatment was not very effective and was compounded by many adverse effects from the medications. However, over the past several years, new classes of medications have been developed that are both highly effective and tolerable, allowing substantially more patients to achieve a cure for this disease. This module will provide a history and overview of the disease's pathophysiology and a review of newly approved medications and their clinical evidence.
