Course overview

Mild traumatic brain injury presents a logistical challenge for many physicians as well as attorneys in that traditional imaging methods often provide very little information. More advanced diagnostic imaging procedures, like diffusion tensor imaging and susceptibility weighted MRI will be covered, as will as advanced in office diagnostic testing options like video nystagmography, EEG, oculomotor tracking, autonomic nervous system testing, computerized dynamic posturography and home sleep studies. These tools give a much deeper understanding of the extent of damage from a TBI, objective evidence of dysfunction, and can aid in the creation of the optimal treatment plan.
