Intro to Impact of Western Medicine on Traditional Chinese Medicine

Course overview

The system of modern Western medicine came into being in the early 20th century. This course will discuss that Chinese medicine was influenced by modern Western medicine since the early 20th century. This course will present that achievement was gained in the formation of basic disciplines of Chinese medicine, integration of Chinese medicine and modern Western medicine, empirical analysis method in Western medicine introduced into Chinese medicine, and the research work on single herbs in Chinese medicine in scientific way, etc. This course will introduce the impact of these studies which still can be seen in the modern Chinese medicine studies.
