  • Recognize the 4 behaviors that commonly comprise intimate partner violence (IPV) along with 3 mental health conditions and at least 3 physical health issues that often co-occur with it
  • Utilize a brief screening measure to assess for IPV and clinically recognize at least 6 risk factors for the development and maintenance of IPV
  • Incorporate elements from 5 theory- and evidence-based interventions into clinical work in the IPV arena
  • Provide victims of partner violence with at least 10 outlets for specialized health and legal resources

Course overview

The Identifying Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) in your Practice includes 5 contact hours needed for license renewal. This course provides the current definition of IPV, which includes violence between same-sex partners, warning signs of IPV, evidence-based assessment and treatment strategies including specialized health and legal resources for individuals in abusive relationships. This course also fulfills the SANE requirement for KY RNs'. SmartCE courses can be taken at-your-own-pace, online from any device and they report to CE Broker within 24 hours.
