Tracking # 20-774335
Course overview
It is highly common for older adults to have one or several chronic diseases. There are eight major chronic illnesses that affect older adults, and four chronic diseases cause nearly two thirds of all deaths in this population - diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and stroke. Nursing interventions in chronic disease are aimed at managing these conditions while maintaining quality of life for the patient. The purpose of this course is to examine and understand the risks, symptoms, treatments, and nursing interventions for older adults with chronic illness.
