This course addresses clinical issues, challenges, and strategies in Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOT). It discusses: client retention, relapse and continued substance abuse, substance abuse by family members, group work issues, safety and security, client privacy, clients who work, and boundary issues. It includes role playing dialogue, and bullet points for each issue outlined in the chapter. There are several useful relapse risk tools in an appendix at the end of the chapter.
