Physical therapists are often on the front lines of wound care, treating many patients during the most critical stages of wound care and healing, with chronic wounds among the most common wounds treated in physical therapy. This program focuses on how chronic wounds are chronic infections, including the role of biofilm in the new paradigm of bacterial pathogenesis, infection mechanisms, typologies, barriers to wound healing, diagnostics, treatments, and outcomes.
