Course overview

This course examines the effects of high peak (binge) drinking on the 21st birthday. The study included a large sample of 599 college students. Surprisingly those who drank less at baseline show an increase in peak drinking at follow-up. Peak drinking on the 21st birthday showed increased consequences regardless of drinking at baseline and the effect was sustained throughout follow-up at 3, 6, 9 months and a year after the 21st birthday.
