Tracking # 20-737328
Course overview
Needlestick injuries continue to pose a threat to all healthcare professionals (HCPs) involved in patient care. Despite the preventative processes health care institutions have put into place to prevent needlestick injuries, HCPs still face this threat every day. There is a plethora of information and recommendations now available on the appropriate treatment for occupational exposures and the management of needlestick injuries. This module will review the current literature on managing the most common bloodborne pathogens transmitted from needlestick injuries and evaluating post-exposure prophylaxis.
