Course overview

One hour live webinar (will be recorded) co-sponsored by the Johns Hopkins ERC and Abbott Global Occupational Health Services. Why do we sleep at night? How much do we really need? Dr. Sophie Bostock will explain recent developments in our understanding of sleep and how our body clock or "circadian rhythm" is programmed. She will reveal what happens when our natural biological rhythms are disrupted, and how this can impact on safety and wellbeing at work. Sophie will discuss how to cope with the challenges of today's 24-hour society, including how evidence-based digital tools can enable people to take control of their sleep.
