- Recognize risk factors and signs of elder abuse, including common reporting requirements
- Discuss end-of-life issues that affect individuals and caregivers
COURSE 3: Ankle Fracture: Treatment and Management
- Describe the basic anatomy and function of the ankle
- Describe the types of injuries that may occur in the ankle joint
- Discuss non-surgical and surgical treatment options for ankle injuries
- Discuss rehabilitation of the ankle after an injury
- Discuss possible complications of ankle injuries and treatment
COURSE 4: Pediatric Head Abuse Trauma (Shaken Baby Syndrome)
- Define pediatric abusive head trauma
- Describe the prevalence of pediatric abusive head trauma
- Describe the long-term consequences of pediatric abusive head trauma
- Identify common causes of pediatric abusive head trauma
- Identify both victim and perpetrator risk factors for pediatric abusive head trauma
- Identify the most common injuries associated with pediatric abusive head trauma
- Describe the assessment and treatment protocols for pediatric abusive head trauma
- Identify steps that can be taken to reduce the incidence of pediatric abusive head trauma
COURSE 5: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Describe how ASD affects language, motor, cognitive, social, and emotional behavior.
- Describe the predominant theories regarding the causes of autism.
- Describe the role that neural anomalies may play in the development of autism.
- Identify disorders that are similar to autism and how they can be differentiated.
- Identify the diagnostic criteria for ASD.
- Describe treatments and methods for managing ASD.
- Identify the types of educational options that are available to children with ASD.

- Discuss the role of communication
