The Science of Communication - Communication, Active Listening, and Conflict Management
Tracking # 20-797773
Course overview
Communication is key to effective patient care - if we can't communicate effectively, our work and our patients may suffer. Understanding how we communicate, how we listen, and ultimately how we deal with conflict can significantly improve our overall performance. This session will define and describe various communication and conflict resolution styles, how they interact, and how that knowledge can be put to use to effectively manage any situation. For example, if you understand that you are a particular style communicator, then you will also understand when that style may not be the most appropriate style in a given situation and be better prepared to adapt. When faced with someone of a different style, you'll understand how best to respond to the person/situation positively.
