Diabetes: Metabolic Syndrome and Prediabetes

Course overview

Diabetes has reached epidemic levels throughout the world. As of 2020, approximately 34.2 million Americans have been diagnosed with diabetes, and type 2 diabetes accounts for 95% of those cases. Two chronic conditions, metabolic syndrome and prediabetes, directly impact the eventual development of diabetes. Fortunately, lifestyle interventions can dramatically lower the progression to diabetes. The goal of this program is to educate healthcare providers on these conditions and treatment options and empower them to recognize their own personal risk factors.
