Course overview

This training will present the neurobiological model for eating disorders with a focus on brain and behavioral mechanisms that maintain key eating disorder behaviors such as restricting energy intake, self-induced vomiting, and binge eating. Practical, neurobiologically-informed implications for treatment will be reviewed and practiced, including screening questions, assessment tools, appropriate level of care recommendations, and when and how to refer for specialized care. The focus will be on creating real-world applicable means for engaging clients with the latest brain-based research in ways that facilitate the best possible client care.
