Pediatric Airway Management (1621)
Tracking # 20-798585
Course overview
You are dispatched for a pediatric breathing emergency. You arrive to find a 3-year-old sitting upright in a chair. The child glances at you as you enter but makes no attempt to speak. The child is having a lot of trouble breathing. Few calls produce more anxiety for the EMS professional than the appropriate management of the pediatric airway. We must be confident in our knowledge of the airway along with airway management tools and their use. In this course, we will review the anatomy of the pediatric airway, devices to use in managing the pediatric airway, and the use of pulse oximetry and capnography. We will also look at endotracheal intubation, an advanced airway management technique.
