Pediatric Growth Assessment
Tracking # 20-799239
Course overview
Evaluation of growth, using accurate anthropometrics and sound interpretation, is a vital step in the nutrition assessment of children. Children have dynamic nutrient needs which are influenced, in part, by growth. For the registered dietitian nutritionist who primarily works with adults, it can be challenging when tasked with assessing a pediatric patient accurately. After completing this course, you will be able to describe accurate measurement techniques, select appropriate growth charts to use when working with a pediatric patient, apply z scores to assess growth, and compare results to malnutrition and obesity parameters for children.
