PROCTITIS IS INFLAMMATION OF THE RECTAL MUCOSA, DISTAL TO THE RECTOSIGMOID JUNCTION, WITHIN 18 CM OF THE ANAL VERGE. ANUSITIS IS INFLAMMATION OF THE LINING OF THE ANAL CANAL. ANUSITIS IS A COMMON DISORDER THAT IS OFTEN MISDIAGNOSED AS HEMORRHOIDS. THIS ACTIVITY DESCRIBES THE PATHOPHYSIOLOGY AND PRESENTATION OF PROCTITIS AND ANUSITIS AND HIGHLIGHTS THE ROLE OF THE INTERPROFESSIONAL TEAM IN THEIR MANAGEMENT.
