SYSTEMIC MASTOCYTOSIS IS AN AGGRESSIVE DISORDER CHARACTERIZED BY THE RELEASE OF NUMEROUS VASOACTIVE CELL MEDIATORS DUE TO EXCESSIVE ACTIVITY OF MAST CELLS, WHICH RESULTS IN A WIDE VARIETY OF SYMPTOMS. SYMPTOMS INCLUDE ANAPHYLAXIS, FLUSHING, NONSPECIFIC GI AS WELL AS NEUROPSYCHIATRIC. THIS ACTIVITY OUTLINES THE EVALUATION AND MANAGEMENT OF SYSTEMIC MASTOCYTOSIS AND REVIEWS THE ROLES OF THE INTERPROFESSIONAL TEAM IN EVALUATING AND TREATING PATIENTS WITH THIS CONDITION.
