MASK SQUEEZE IS A COMMON INJURY AMONG DIVERS AND OCCURS WHEN A DIVER FAILS TO EQUALIZE THE AIR SPACE IN THEIR MASK DURING DESCENT, RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE BLOOD VESSELS AND SOFT TISSUES OF THE EYES AND FACE. THIS ACTIVITY DESCRIBES THE MECHANISM OF INJURY AND COMMON CIRCUMSTANCES THAT LEAD TO THIS INJURY.
