INFLUENZA VIRUSES CAUSE THE ANNUAL HUMAN EPIDEMICS, SEASONAL AND PANDEMIC. SEASONAL INFLUENZA EPIDEMICS CAUSED BY INFLUENZA A AND B VIRUSES RESULT IN 3 TO 5 MILLION SEVERE CASES AND THOUSANDS OF DEATHS GLOBALLY EACH YEAR.
