DYSPHAGIA IS DEFINED AS OBJECTIVE IMPAIRMENT OR DIFFICULTY IN SWALLOWING, RESULTING IN AN ABNORMAL DELAY IN THE TRANSIT OF A LIQUID OR SOLID BOLUS. THE DELAY MAYBE DURING THE OROPHARYNGEAL OR ESOPHAGEAL PHASE OF SWALLOWING. THIS ACTIVITY DESCRIBES THE ETIOLOGY, EPIDEMIOLOGY, PATHOPHYSIOLOGY, EVALUATION, DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS, AND MANAGEMENT OF OROPHARYNGEAL AND ESOPHAGEAL DYSPHAGIA. IT ALSO EXPLORES THE ROLE OF COLLABORATION AMONG THE INTERPROFESSIONAL TEAM TO ENHANCE THE DELIVERY OF CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH DYSPHAGIA.
