COARCTATION OF THE AORTA IS A NARROWING OF THE AORTA TYPICALLY AT THE LOCATION OF THE DUCTUS ARTERIOSUS DISTAL TO THE LEFT SUBCLAVIAN ARTERY ACCOUNTING FOR 5%-8% OF ALL CONGENITAL HEART DEFECTS.
