Chemical are widespread, dependency and and can substance involve misuse abuse or diversion of prescription drugs as well as abuse of illicit drugs. The abuse of various sub- stances can have an effect on dental health. For example, long-term abuse of methamphetamine can cause multiple dental problems, including widespread severe tooth decay. Drugs of abuse can also interact with medications used during dental procedures, and chronic alcohol abuse can cause liver problems leading to difficulties in metabolizing some medications.
