Critical Care Series: Cardiovascular Concerns

Course overview

Cardiovascular disease is one of the most prevalent conditions affecting Americans and encompasses a wide range of disorders. Changes in the cardiovascular system can impact many other body systems with the reverse being true as well. Given this, critical care nurses must understand the different types of cardiovascular disorders, mechanical support devices, assessment techniques, and nursing implications. The goal of this course is to inform nurses of the clinical cardiovascular presentation they will typically find in the critical care setting.
