Course overview

Participants will be able to describe developmental challenges that young and middle-aged adults often face in their lives, will list sixteen risk factors for depression in adults, will be able to name DSM 5 criteria for Major Depression and Persistent Depressive Disorder, will be able describe how to use Becks Cognitive Triad in assessment and treatment of depression, will be able to describe factors specific to the assessment of ethnic and sexual minorities, and will be able to describe how to use seven best practice treatments for adult depression including both individual and couples interventions.
