The 2010 Institute of Medicines recommendation to increase the percentage of baccalaureate prepared nurses to 80% by 2020 resulted in an expansion of BSN programs. There are over 600 online RN-BSN programs today. Online nursing programs provide the flexibility needed for nurses to return to school, while still working and maintaining their personal obligations. Learning in the online format is different but can be highly satisfying for being a part of a community-like class environment with other nurses. There are many resources available to online students to help them be successful. This course provides information on what to expect in an online RN-BSN program and how to be successful.
