Thus, evolving a way of thinking which will offer a full description of the complexity of new technologies. The advent of these new technologies further extends the analysis of the differences between cognitive processes within the adolescent and matured brain. Brain development and volume will also be addressed within this course. Specifically, highlighting the differences between the sexes. Thus, analyzing patterns of neural activation while tasks are performed. For instance, the environmental influence amongst adolescent brain development is objectively assessed. The understanding of the critical role of everyday experiences playing a crucial role in the neurological pathways and connections for optimal processing will also be described. This leads to the exploration of what the brain development looks like in the day to day life of a teenager. This course details the teenage journey of cognitive maturing, which includes the maturation of the prefrontal cortex and the changes in neurotransmission. The influence of choosing friends over family is also covered, because this choice makes a significant impact on the mental and physical health of a teen. This leads into emotion regulation, experimenting, and explorations. These sensitive subjects are addressed thoroughly to implicate the demands set by peers that heighten chronic stressors, which affect then development of neuroregulatory systems.
