At the completion of this home study activity, pharmacists will be able to: Define Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD); Recognize the differences between IBS and IBD; Identify the signs and symptoms associated with IBS and IBD; Explain the prevalence and etiology associated with IBS and IBD; Recognize various diagnostic tests to determine IBS and IBD; Compare and contrast different treatment options; Identify lifestyle modifications patients should adhere to in order to avoid worsening of symptoms; Identify the role of the pharmacist in the management of IBS and IBD.
