Course overview

The ability to perform basic activities of daily living, or ADLs, is important to a residents quality of life. Because of age and other chronic issues, ADL decline may be unavoidable in some residents. However, with the implementation of the right program, you can prevent this decline in many of your residents and improve overall quality of life. Knowing how to incorporate dressing, grooming, and bathing programs into your organizations restorative program will help your residents gain a sense of independence and self-worth. The goal of this course is to provide direct care workers in skilled and long term care residential settings with an overview of dressing, grooming, and bathing.
